Three headaches, off your plate

You already know the website’s a problem.

Here’s how I take all three of them off your hands.

The bit that makes you wince

Your “Book Now” button’s been broken for months. Your prices are out of date. It looks rough on a phone. You keep meaning to sort it, and somehow it’s been on the list since spring.

I rebuild it properly, then keep it current for you. Spotted a wrong price? Want to swap a photo? Send me a message and it’s done that day. You never touch it.

That little flash of embarrassment when someone asks for your website — gone. You send them the link and you’re actually pleased they’re looking.

The bit that makes you hesitate

Last time, you paid up front, it broke, and the person went quiet on you. You’re not being difficult — you just can’t afford to lose money on this twice.

You pay no upfront build fee. A small refundable deposit holds your slot, and your first month is only due once the site’s finished, you’ve seen it, and you’ve signed it off. The money follows the result — never a promise.

You’re in control the whole way through. Nothing changes hands until you’re genuinely happy, so the worst-case scenario from last time simply can’t happen.

The bit that drives you mad

You want to change your opening hours. Suddenly you’re logging into some system you’ve never seen, raising a “support ticket”, and waiting three days for a reply to a thirty-second question.

You reach me however you already talk to people — phone, WhatsApp voice note, or email. Tell me what’s changed and I sort it. No new systems unless you want them. No tickets. No learning anything.

It stops feeling like managing a supplier and starts feeling like having someone local on your side who just handles it.

How it works

A simple, low-stress process.

From first hello to launch and beyond — here’s exactly what happens, and exactly when you pay.

Today

Reserve a build week

Pick an available week that suits you and hold it with a refundable deposit. That's your place in the calendar — nothing else to do yet.

Before your build week

We have a proper conversation

A relaxed chat about your business — your story, your best customers, what they ask before they buy, and what makes people choose you. You already know all of this; you just haven't had anyone ask the right questions.

Before a single page is designed

Your message map takes shape

Everything you tell me becomes a plan: who your best customer is, what they need to hear, and in what order. The website gets built around their questions — not around what a template thinks a homepage should say.

Your build week

I design and build it

I write the words and design the pages around your message map. You carry on running your business — there's nothing for you to project-manage.

When it's ready

You review it, I refine it

You see the finished website, tell me what's not right, and I change it. Only when you've signed it off does your first month become due.

This is the only point you pay.

From launch

It's looked after

Hosting, security, updates, changes — all covered. Spot something you want changed? Message me and it's done. You never touch the technical side.

Scroll to watch a site come together.

This has been my thing since I was 16.

When I was 16 I built a website to help local businesses in my town get found online during the recession. Charities used it free. It got written up in Surrey Live. I wasn’t trying to build a career — I just believed that a good local business deserved to be visible.

That was over 15 years ago. The technology has changed. The belief hasn’t.

Since then I’ve spent my career building websites for local businesses and charities, always working directly with the people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. I moved to the Isle of Wight because this is where I want to build a life. I’m a new dad. I care about this community in a way that isn’t a marketing line.

I’ve seen good Island businesses lose customers to competitors with worse products and better websites. I’ve watched people compensate for a broken booking button by pasting price lists into WhatsApp at 10pm. I built this offer specifically to fix that: no upfront build fee, nothing due until you’re happy, one predictable monthly cost, and communication that works the way you already work.

I’m one person, on the Island, with 15 years of experience and a genuine reason to care whether this works for you. More about working with an Isle of Wight web designer.

£95a month

Everything your website needs. All in one fee.

No hidden extras. No surprise invoices. No “that’s not included in your package.” One monthly amount covers all of it.

  • A website built around your business

However many pages it needs to do the job properly. Designed around your best customers, written to answer their questions and earn their trust before they’ve even picked up the phone.

  • Copy and content written for you

I write the words. Based on our conversation about your business, your values and your customers — not a generic template filled in with your name.

  • Content updates done for you

Changed your prices? New photos? Updated your opening hours? Message me however suits you and I’ll sort it. No ticket systems, no logins, no waiting days for a reply.

  • Hosting, security and maintenance handled

Your website stays live, secure and up to date. You never receive a hosting renewal email, a plugin update warning, or a security alert. None of that reaches you.

  • A monthly website report in plain English

Every month I send you a simple summary of how your website is performing — how many people visited, how they found you, which pages they looked at. No spreadsheets, no dashboards, nothing to log into.

  • Works perfectly on every device

Fast, clean and fully responsive. Looks right whether someone finds you on their phone at 9pm or on a laptop in the office.

  • Local support from a real person on the Island

You know who built your website. You have my number. I’m not going anywhere.

When you pay

  1. Today

    £49

    Refundable deposit

Holds your build week and comes off your first month. Fully refundable at any point before launch.

  2. At launch

    First month

    Due at sign-off

Only when the website is finished, you’ve seen it, and you’re happy with it. Not a day before.

  3. From then on

    £95/month

    6 months minimum

Everything above, covered. After 6 months it rolls monthly — 30 days’ notice to cancel, no exit fees.

Most businesses that come to me have already spent money on a website that didn’t work out. This structure exists so that can’t happen again: you only ever pay for work you’ve seen and approved, and the 6-month minimum gives the website a genuine chance to prove itself.

For most small businesses, one or two new customers a month covers it. Everything after that is profit.

This might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re probably in the right place.

This is for you if you’ve been meaning to sort the website for months and somehow it keeps getting pushed down the list.

It’s for you if you’ve been burned before. If you paid someone, it didn’t go the way you hoped, and now you’re wary of spending money on this again. That’s completely understandable. And it’s exactly why I’ve structured this the way I have.

It’s for you if you’re relying entirely on Facebook or word of mouth, and you know, deep down, that people are searching for what you offer on Google and not finding you.

It’s for you if you just want someone to take the whole thing off your plate. The technical side, the updates, the maintenance, the back and forth. All of it. Gone.

And it’s for you if you’d rather work with a real local person you can actually call, than send a support ticket into the void and hope for the best.

Trades, salons, cafés, shops, charities, holiday lets — any local business that needs to be found online and look the part when someone finds them.

If your gut is saying yes, it probably is.

Don’t just take my word for it.

I’ve been building websites for businesses on the Isle of Wight and beyond for over 15 years. Here’s what people have said.

This managed care package is a new way of offering my work. The reviews below are from clients across my 15 years of web design. I’d rather be straight with you about that than pretend otherwise.

Matt is a professional and talented web designer who is able to take your ideas and interpret them into a web site. I would highly recommend Matt and we are very pleased with the two websites he developed and is running for us.
Nick HillChurch leader
Very efficient and professional with a good sense of what was required and was helpful in suggesting changes and in keeping the website up to date. Very good artistic sense with an eye catching home page with easy access to tabs.

To date he has designed 2 websites for me which have proved highly successful and have led to a significant increase in my client base. ... Most of them found me the same way you probably did — someone they trusted said I was worth a call.

Decide for yourself — the maths

Work out your own return.

Pick your business type, plug in your numbers, and see whether the maths works for you. No sales pitch — just a straight answer.

I’m not going to tell you this is a no-brainer. The numbers will do that, or they won’t.

What kind of business are you?

Looks like a strong fit

Your first commitment is £570 (6 months at £95/month). After that, rolling monthly.

Still got questions? Here are the honest answers.

No small print designed to confuse you. Just straight answers.

What if I change my mind after paying the deposit?

You get the £49 back. No questions, no awkward conversation, no admin fee. It's refundable right up until the moment your website goes live.

What if I don't like the finished website?

Before anything is due we'll have gone through a proper review process together. You'll have seen it, fed back on it, and signed it off. The first month is only due once you're genuinely happy. If something isn't right, I fix it first.

What happens after the 6 months?

It rolls to a monthly contract. 30 days' notice to cancel — that's it. No long-term lock-in, no exit fees, no awkward conversations.

What if I want to cancel?

After your 6-month minimum, give me 30 days notice and we're done. Your website won't be held hostage. We can talk through your options at that point.

Do I get to see the website before it goes live?

Yes, always. You review it, feed back, I make changes, and only once you've signed it off does it go live and your first month become due.

What if something breaks after launch?

That's what the monthly care package covers. You message me, I fix it. No extra charge, no support ticket, no waiting three days for a reply.

Can I make my own changes to the website?

If you'd like to, that's available as an optional add-on. Most people prefer to just message me and have it done for them. But if logging in and editing your own content suits the way you work, we can talk through what that would involve.

Do I own the website?

This is a managed service, meaning the website is built and maintained as part of your monthly subscription. If you ever want to discuss ownership or moving the site, just ask. I'd rather have that conversation openly than have it buried in small print.

Why only Isle of Wight businesses?

Because local is the whole point. I want to work with businesses I can visit, in a community I'm part of. Keeping it Island-only means I can give every client the attention they deserve.

I've been burned before. How is this different?

No upfront build fee. Refundable deposit. You pay your first month only once you've seen and approved the finished site. I'm a real person with a local phone number and 15 years of work behind me. And unlike last time, I'm not going anywhere.

Ready to get your website sorted?

If you’ve read this far, something here probably resonated. The next step costs nothing: pick an available build week and hold it with a refundable deposit.

Then we’ll have a relaxed conversation about your business and what you need. If it isn’t the right fit, I’ll tell you honestly and point you in the right direction. Either way, you’ll know where you stand.

First month due at launch — once you’ve seen the website and you’re happy with it.

Rather just talk to a person first?

I’m looking forward to hearing about your business.
