The Isle of Wight has an area of 384 km2 (148 sq mi) roughly a rhomboid in shape making the Island one of the smallest countries in the United Kingdom. The Isle of Wight has over 140,000 residence with a heavier concentration on East Wight - West Wight is more rural. The Isle of Wight has a circumference of roughly 70 miles.
Of all the Island landmass just over half is designated as the Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
